The Story

Dromedar Kaffebar holds a special place in Norwegian coffee history. Founded in Trondheim in 1997, it was one of the first cafés in Norway to take specialty coffee seriously — years before the third-wave movement reached mainstream consciousness. In many ways, Dromedar helped pave the way for the coffee revolution that Norway is now famous for.

The café sits in the heart of Bakklandet, one of Trondheim's most picturesque neighbourhoods. Colourful wooden stilt houses line the cobblestoned streets, and the Nidelva river flows gently past, creating a setting that feels both historic and timeless. The Old Town Bridge (Gamle Bybro) is just steps away, offering iconic views of the riverside warehouses.
